This workshop will focus on helping scientists to understand important factors in the selection of a data license, as well as the implications of that selection on downstream use and reuse. We will explore many common clauses in data licenses (citation, commercial use, derivitization), and invite a diverse set of panelists to comment on how those clauses help or hinder their objectives. Speakers will be drawn from many stakeholder groups, including data owners, data miners, funders, and legal experts.
